Victorian 1890s Emerald and Diamond Dangle Pendant, 18K Gold
SKU: BRO.SL.3
A Victorian pendant unfolds in layers of fine gold scrollwork, fleur-de-lis curls opening around a small diamond-shaped emerald at the top before the design gathers into a denser cluster at center, where a square emerald sits inside a halo of tiny diamonds. Below, the scrollwork narrows and releases a dangling drop; a third emerald in its own diamond surround, terminating in a slim gold spear point that swings free as the piece moves. The single-cut diamonds scattered through the open scrollwork are small and quiet by design, meant to catch light without competing with the emeralds. This is genuine 1890s hand work: the scale, the openwork technique, and the layered drop construction are all period-accurate rather than a later revival piece. It hangs from a contemporary 14K gold rolo chain, 16 inches long, fitted for present-day wear. Excellent antique condition for its age, gold shows the soft, worn character expected of a 130-year-old piece, no losses or repairs, stones secure, pin mechanism functions.
