Frequently Asked Questions
Please see below for answers to common questions from customers
What is estate jewelry?
Estate jewelry refers to previously owned fine jewelry. It may come from any time period, including contemporary, vintage, or antique eras. Many estate pieces feature exceptional craftsmanship, rare gemstones, and one of a kind designs that are difficult to find in modern jewelry.
What is the difference between antique and vintage jewelry?
Antique jewelry is typically over 100 years old, while vintage jewelry generally refers to pieces that are at least 20 to 30 years old. At Recoleta Estate Jewelry, our collection includes antique, vintage, retro, mid century, and modern estate pieces from a variety of eras.
Are your jewelry pieces authentic?
Yes. Every piece in our collection is carefully evaluated by experts in gemology, jewelry appraising, and jewelry history to ensure authenticity, quality, and craftsmanship.
Do your pieces come with appraisals or certifications?
All of our items are accompanied by an appraisal report for insurance purposes completed by our Graduate Gemologist and Certified Master Jewelry Appraiser from NAJA (National Association of Jewelry Appraisers) on staff.
Are your diamonds and gemstones natural?
Unless otherwise noted, our diamonds and gemstones are natural. Any treatments, enhancements, or laboratory certifications will be disclosed in the product description whenever applicable.
Why choose estate jewelry over new jewelry?
Estate jewelry offers timeless beauty, exceptional craftsmanship, and sustainability. Purchasing estate jewelry is an eco conscious way to enjoy fine jewelry while giving extraordinary pieces a second life.
Do you offer engagement rings?
Yes. We offer a curated selection of vintage and estate engagement rings, including Art Deco, Edwardian, Retro, and Mid Century styles featuring diamonds and colored gemstones.
Can I schedule a private appointment?
Absolutely. We welcome clients to schedule a private appointment at our Beverly Hills showroom for personalized assistance and private viewings.
Do you buy estate jewelry?
Yes. We purchase antique, vintage, and estate jewelry, gemstones, signed jewelry, and luxury wristwatches. Confidential evaluations are available with no obligation to sell.
Do you offer shipping?
Yes. We provide free worldwide shipping. Orders are shipped fully insured via UPS, FedEx, or DHL. Our team will contact you after purchase to coordinate delivery. International orders typically ship within 2 business days after payment, unless sizing is required, and generally arrive in 3–5 days. International customers are responsible for applicable customs duties and taxes.
Is financing available?
Yes. Eligible customers can use Shop Pay Installments at checkout to split qualifying purchases into biweekly or monthly payments. Available plans, down payments, interest rates, and approval are determined by Affirm and displayed before checkout. Checking eligibility won’t affect your credit. Shop Pay Installments is available for eligible purchases up to $30,000. For larger purchases, please contact us to discuss payment options, including bank wire.
Are all pieces one of a kind?
Many of our estate and vintage jewelry pieces are one of a kind or extremely limited due to their age, rarity, and provenance.
Do you carry signed designer jewelry?
Yes. Our collection frequently includes signed pieces from renowned jewelry houses and designers such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co., David Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels, and more.
Can jewelry be resized or restored?
In many cases, rings can be resized and certain restoration work may be possible. Please contact us to discuss the specific piece you are interested in.
How do I care for vintage and estate jewelry?
We recommend gentle cleaning, proper storage, and periodic professional inspections to preserve the beauty and integrity of estate jewelry. Avoid harsh chemicals and remove jewelry before strenuous activities.
