Retro Tri-Color Solid Gold Link Bracelet, circa 1940s

A superb Retro strap bracelet composed of articulated solid links in three colors of 18K gold consisting of rose, yellow, and green and laid in sweeping diagonal bands that recall a woven mesh while retaining the substance of solid gold construction. The original high-polish finish is beautifully preserved, and the tri-color banding shifts with every movement of the wrist.

Each row is rigid across the width and hinged along the length, so the bracelet flexes smoothly to the curve of the wrist while holding its form — the tank-track architecture that defined 1940s Retro goldsmithing, drawn from the machine age and rendered in warm, sensuous gold.

Measuring 18 millimeters wide, the bracelet carries a remarkable 88 grams. Unlike the hollow mesh straps common to the period, it is built from solid gold throughout, giving it genuine heft on the wrist and a durability lighter woven work cannot match. Secured by a concealed clasp with double figure-eight safety.
