Mid-Century Star Sapphire & Diamond Platinum Ring, 40ct, Circa 1950s
SKU: RO.HA.21
A 40 carat oval cabochon star sapphire commands this substantial mid-century ring, its deep blue body rising with genuine height and presence; asterism is best seen under a single direct light source and may not be fully apparent in photographs, but the stone's saturated color and domed profile are striking even without it catching the light. Fifty-six round brilliant diamonds, 2 carats total in G-H color and VS2 clarity, encircle the sapphire in a dense halo, their collective sparkle framing the stone's smooth, glowing surface. The platinum setting is built to support the sapphire's considerable size while letting the diamond halo read as a continuous ring of light around the color. At 21 grams and sized for a 6.25, this is a genuine statement piece with real weight and presence on the hand. Condition is excellent for its age: the platinum retains a bright, well-kept finish, and all diamonds are secure with no visible losses.
