GIA Certified 41.23ct No-Heat Star Ruby and Diamond 18K White Gold Cocktail Ring

At 41.23 carats, this star ruby is large enough that the asterism becomes almost architectural, when tilted the stone and a sharp six-rayed star travels across a deep, saturated purplish-red surface, the rutile silk catching light in a way faceted stones can't replicate. GIA has confirmed the stone as natural corundum with no indication of heating, a rare distinction at this size; most rubies on the market, star or faceted, are treated to improve color. A double cabochon cut keeps the dome high and the base flat, maximizing both the visible star and the stone's presence on the hand. A border of 26 round brilliant diamonds wraps the ruby in white light, drawing the eye back to the center stone rather than competing with it, while the 18K white gold mounting stays architectural and restrained with fluted shoulders, no additional ornament; leaving the ruby to do the work a stone this rare doesn't need help doing.
Excellent vintage condition, the stone is clean with no visible chips, diamonds are secure with no visible damage. Stamped 18K. Size 7. Weighs 20.2 grams total.
