A single transitional round brilliant diamond commands the center of this 1930s platinum ring, its faceting style caught between the old European cut and the fully modern round brilliant — a transitional moment in diamond cutting history that gives the stone a slightly deeper, more candlelit sparkle than a contemporary cut delivers. At 1.04 carats with E color and VS1 clarity, GIA-certified, it reads bright and clean with no visible inclusions to the naked eye.
Two tapered baguette diamonds flank the center stone, their elongated shape following the ring's shoulders in a clean architectural line that was the signature of Art Deco design; symmetry and geometry standing in for the floral motifs of earlier eras. The platinum setting is simple and substantial, letting the diamonds carry the design without competing detail.
Excellent condition, no visible wear, prongs secure, baguettes set true. Stamped IRID, PLAT.
