Edwardian 1910s Diamond Filigree Ring, 0.45ct Old Mine Cut, 14K White Gold
SKU: RO.EB.7
An old mine cut diamond sits bezel-set at the heart of this marquise-shaped filigree ring, its warm tone at home in the white gold rather than fighting it. Fourteen tiny rose-cut diamonds ring the center in a scalloped halo, their flat, faceted tops catching light differently than the deeper-cut center stone; a contrast typical of the era, when cutters mixed cut styles within a single piece rather than matching them uniformly. Pierced, engraved metalwork fills the space between halo and outer edge, with the same fine detailing continuing down the shoulders and onto the visible portion of the shank. The elongated, navette silhouette is classic Edwardian design, built to sit vertically on the finger and draw the eye the length of the hand.
Excellent vintage condition; no visible wear, damage, or loose stones in photographs. Size 5.75. Measures 19mm long, 10mm wide at the top. Weighs 3.1 grams total.
