Art Deco Waslikoff & Sons Diamond and Sapphire Platinum Bracelet, Circa 1925

SKU: BO.HA.5

Rectangular platinum panels march down the wrist in strict repetition, each one centered on a marquise-cut diamond bordered by a stylized foliate spray of calibré-cut sapphires. The sapphires are cut to fit the design rather than the reverse, each leaf-shaped stone ground to match its neighbors so the blue reads as a continuous ribbon rather than individual gems. Pavé diamonds fill the surrounding field, catching light evenly across the panel and giving the piece a bright, unbroken sparkle even where the sapphires interrupt it.

The symmetry is exact panel to panel, a discipline that defines Art Deco jewelry of the mid-1920s and separates it from the looser, curvilinear work that came before it. Waslikoff & Sons, a New York workshop active from 1910 through the 1940s, built a reputation on exactly this kind of precise, geometric platinum work. The bracelet closes with a concealed box clasp and a separate safety latch, both original and functioning. It presents in excellent condition, with all diamonds and sapphires securely set and no visible chips, cracks, or replaced stones. Signed and stamped "W, .10 IRID, .90 PLAT," the bracelet measures 7 inches long and 14mm wide, weighing 36.5 grams.
