Three-Row Spiga Link Chain Necklace, 18K Gold, Circa 1970s

SKU: N.PW.3

Three individual spiga-link chains fall in graduated tiers, each row built from tightly woven wheat-pattern links that catch light in a continuous fine texture rather than distinct segments. The tiered lengths let the chains layer naturally against the body, each row settling at a slightly different point so the necklace reads as a deliberate cascade rather than a single strand. Spiga link work; named for its resemblance to a wheat ear which is a hallmark of Italian goldsmithing, prized for the density of its construction and the way it catches light along its whole length. The three rows converge into a single box clasp at the back, keeping the tiered design secure without interrupting its flow. At 10 millimeters across and with a 16 to 18 inch graduated length, the necklace has real substance and can be worn layered or as a single statement piece. Stamped "ITALY, VR, 750," this necklace is crafted in 18K yellow gold and weighs 106.5 grams.
