18K White Gold Heart-Shaped Sapphire and Diamond Necklace, Circa 1970s

A heart-shaped Ceylon sapphire sits at the center, its faceted planes holding a saturated blue that reads consistently across the stone rather than concentrating in one area. A cluster of marquise and round diamonds fans out around it in an asymmetric halo, denser at the base than the crown, so the eye settles on the sapphire's point before moving outward into brilliance. That cluster gives way to a continuous line of round brilliant diamonds circling the full length of the necklace, each stone claw-set in its own link so the sparkle reads as unbroken from clasp to pendant.
