Woven Mesh Buckle Bracelet with Diamonds in 14K Gold, circa 1960s
SKU: BO.EB.3
A richly worked 1960s bracelet built as a wide woven strap in 14K yellow gold with twisted rope borders framing a fine herringbone weave, with an openwork picket row running through the center. The result is a band of real depth and texture that drapes like fabric across the wrist.
The buckle motif is set with a bright old European cut diamond of 0.95 ct., cradled in a coiled rope bezel and surrounded by a spray of fluted gold fronds accented with four round brilliant diamonds each weighing 0.10 ct. for a total diamond weight on the bracelet of 1.35 carats total, H-I color, SI-1 clarity.
Twin articulated tassels finished with polished gold beads fall from the buckle and swing freely as the wrist moves. At 21 millimeters wide and 67 grams, the bracelet has genuine substance. The buckle construction is fully adjustable, tightening or loosening to fit any wrist comfortably up to 8.5 inches and down to as small as necessary which is a rare practical virtue in a statement piece of this scale.
