1980s Sapphire and Diamond Platinum Bombe Ring

SKU: RO.SO.18

A bezel-set oval sapphire anchors the crown of a full bombe dome, the stone's checkerboard facets breaking its blue into distinct planes rather than one uniform field. Diamonds cascade down the curve on every side in dense pavé, so the dome reads as a single faceted surface with the sapphire rising just above it. Two channels of princess-cut diamonds run in straight lines up either shoulder, cutting sharp geometry through the round-brilliant pavé and framing the sapphire in clean edges. At 26mm across the top, the ring sits substantial and high on the hand, characteristic of the bold-scale bombe mountings that defined 1980s cocktail jewelry. The sapphire weighs 3.50 ct; diamonds total 6.50 ct across 68 princess and round brilliant cuts, graded G color and VS1 clarity. Excellent condition: no visible wear, loose stones, or damage to the pavé.
