Pink Tourmaline Dome Ring with Diamond Geometric Pattern, 18K Gold, Circa 1970s
SKU: RO.OK.12
A large oval cabochon pink tourmaline domes at the center of this ring, bezel-set so its smooth curved surface catches light as one continuous plane of color rather than breaking into facets. Fifty-six round brilliant diamonds surround the stone in a bold geometric pattern, set into angular gold panels that read almost architectural against the dome's soft roundness; straight lines and hard edges framing a curved centerpiece. The scale here is deliberately outsized: a 16-carat stone set high and wide, with the diamond pattern doing the work of scaling the whole design up rather than adding a delicate accent. That combination of an oversized cabochon and graphic, geometric diamond work is a hallmark of 1970s gold jewelry, when boldness and volume were the point.
Excellent vintage condition; no visible wear, damage, or loose stones in photographs. Stamped 750. Size 7.5. Weighs 20 grams total.
