Diamond Platinum Pendant, Abstract Open Heart Motif, Circa 1950s
SKU: PO.HA.5
Round brilliant, baguette, and marquise diamonds trace an open, abstracted heart shape, the mixed cuts giving the outline varied texture rather than a single uniform sparkle. Straight baguettes run in parallel rows through the upper curves, their flat rectangular facets catching light in clean linear flashes that contrast with the scattered brilliance of the round stones around them. Below the heart, a cluster of baguette and marquise diamonds hangs free, moving independently of the rest of the pendant so the piece has real motion when worn rather than sitting static against the chest. The design reads as deliberately loose and asymmetric rather than symmetrical, characteristic of 1950s platinum work that favored abstract, sculptural silhouettes over more rigid period patterns. Suspended from its own 16-inch platinum chain. Excellent condition; no visible chips, losses, or replaced stones.
