1960s Diamond and Sapphire 18K Yellow Gold Bombe Ring, Ribbed Gold Design
SKU: RO.HA.40
Deep ribbing wraps the entire gold dome of this ring, each groove cut cleanly and evenly around the full curve; the kind of consistent, disciplined goldsmithing that takes real skill to execute without the lines wandering or losing depth. Set into a raised panel across the top, sixteen diamonds and twenty-four sapphires alternate in vertical rows, the cool blue and bright white trading off down the length of the dome rather than mixing together. The effect keeps the two stone colors distinct and graphic against each other, while the ribbed gold surrounding the panel gives the whole piece a sculpted, textural weight. This kind of bold bombe silhouette with disciplined linear goldwork is characteristic of 1960s cocktail ring design, when scale and surface texture carried as much visual interest as the stones themselves.
Excellent vintage condition; no visible wear, damage, or loose stones in photographs. Stamped 750. Size 7.25. Weighs 10.5 grams total.
