A finely worked pair of 1960s ear clips, each modeled as a furled leaf in 18K yellow gold. The surface is covered in hand-engraved striations that run the length of every lobe, catching light in fine parallel lines and giving the gold a soft, almost woven appearance where a polished rim traces the outer edge.
The leaf was a favorite subject of Italian goldsmiths through the 1960s, when workshops in Vicenza and Valenza built international reputations on exactly this kind of naturalistic surface work with texture applied by hand rather than cast, so that no two pieces read quite alike.
At 26 millimeters and 22 grams the pair sits neatly against the ear, substantial without being oversized, and reads as warm textured gold rather than bright polish. Fitted with clip backs and hinged omega fittings; no posts. Struck with Italian assay marks and 750 for 18K gold.
