1940s Retro Diamond Pavé Dome Ring, Two-Tone 14K Gold Bombé Design
SKU: RO.SK.57
A dense pavé of round single cut diamonds covers the dome of this ring, twenty stones set edge to edge so the entire raised surface reads as continuous sparkle rather than individual points of light. A smooth, high-polish panel of yellow gold cuts across the diamond field on the diagonal, breaking the pavé into two sections and giving the eye a place to rest against all that faceted texture. The two-tone construction pairs white gold for the diamond setting with yellow gold for the polished panel, letting each stone read its brightest against white metal while the yellow gold carries the sculptural bombé shape underneath. This kind of bold dome silhouette, built up in volume rather than kept flat, is characteristic of 1940s Retro jewelry, when scale and dimension mattered as much as the stones themselves.
Excellent vintage condition; no visible wear, damage, or loose stones in photographs. Stamped 14K. Size 5. Weighs 11 grams total.
