Mid-Century Diamond Snowflake Starburst Platinum Pendant, Circa 1950s
SKU: PEO.DK.1
A cluster of diamonds forms the dense center of this pendant, catching light from every angle before it scatters outward along more than a dozen platinum rays. The rays vary in length and treatment: some carry a straight channel of bead-set diamonds running their full length, others taper to a single round stone floating at the tip on a slender wire. That mix keeps the eye moving rather than settling on one focal point, which is the effect a true starburst is built to create. Eighty-one diamonds in total fill the piece, small individually but substantial together, giving the pendant a bright, continuous sparkle rather than isolated points of light. The motif belongs to the 1950s, when jewelers moved away from the rigid symmetry of Art Deco. The platinum shows a warm, even patina consistent with age, with all diamonds securely set and no visible chips or loose stones. Stamped "Italy, PT," the pendant measures 38mm across, weighs 15 grams, and hangs from a 16-inch platinum open link chain.
