Rhodochrosite & Diamond 18K Gold Earrings, 40ct, Circa 1960s

SKU: EO.HA.23

Two oval cabochon rhodochrosites, 20 carats each, anchor this bold pair of 1960s earrings, their banded pink surface polished to a smooth, glossy dome that shows the stone's natural striations in soft relief. Twenty-eight round brilliant diamonds, 1.25 carats total in G-H color and VS2 clarity, frame the cabochons in a dense border, their bright white sparkle offsetting the stones' warm pink tone. The earrings are built in 18K yellow gold with 14K gold posts and backs; a practical, period-typical choice that kept the wearing hardware slightly more affordable while the visible earring body carried the higher-karat gold. At 30 x 20mm and 30 grams for the pair, these read as genuine statement earrings, substantial enough to anchor an evening look. Condition is excellent: the gold retains a bright, well-kept finish, and both rhodochrosite cabochons show even color and polish with no visible chips.
