Mid-Century Diamond Cluster 14K White Gold Ring, Old European Cut, circa 1950s
SKU: RO.BCJ.OG-11
A 0.55-carat old European cut diamond anchors the cluster, its faceting rounder and less symmetrical than a modern brilliant; the softer, warmer sparkle that comes from hand-cutting rather than laser precision. Smaller diamonds, a mix of single cuts and round brilliants, wrap around it in an asymmetrical wave rather than a tidy circle, giving the whole cluster a sense of movement instead of a fixed halo. This loose, flowing arrangement of mismatched-but-complementary cuts was typical of 1950s mid-century design, when jewelers began favoring organic, asymmetrical shapes over the rigid geometry of the prior Art Deco decades. The 14K white gold setting stays quiet and functional, letting the diamond cluster carry the entire design.
Excellent vintage condition ; no visible wear, damage, or loose stones in photographs. Stamped 14K. Size 6.5. Weighs 4.5 grams total.
