Emerald and Diamond Ring in 18K Yellow Gold, Circa 1970s

A square emerald cut emerald sits at the center of this ring, its stepped facets built to hold color steadily across a clean, 8x8mm face. Straight baguette and round brilliant diamonds form a tight octagonal frame around the stone, alternating cuts along the border so the halo reads as faceted architecture rather than a simple ring of accents. The same diamonds continue down the shoulders in a channel, carrying the sparkle from the halo into the band itself rather than stopping abruptly at the setting.
