French 1960s Diamond Pave Dome Ring, 3ct Flame Motif, 18K Yellow Gold
SKU: RO.DG.4
Forty-eight diamonds pack the dome in a dense, even pavé, their F color and VS1 clarity giving the surface a bright, uniform sparkle rather than the mixed brilliance you'd see with lower-grade melee. Cutting across the pavé, sculpted gold flames rise up in low relief with a raised, textured motif that breaks the diamond field into sections and gives the eye somewhere to land before returning to the sparkle. The dome itself is substantial, built with real heft rather than a thin shell over a light frame, and stamped with French hallmarks confirming its origin in one of the era's major jewelry-making centers. This kind of high-relief metalwork worked directly into a pavé surface, rather than added as a separate applied piece, is a hallmark of serious French goldsmithing from the period.
Excellent vintage condition; no visible wear, damage, or loose stones in photographs. Stamped France. Size 7. Weighs 17.5 grams total.
