Fluted ridges of 18K yellow gold radiate diagonally across each square face, catching light along their length the way a shell's grooves would under direct sun. Set into that texture, sharp white gold chevrons; each pavé-lined with round brilliant diamonds; cut across the ribbing in a bold graphic zigzag, the platinum-white setting standing out crisply against the warm gold. Sixty-six diamonds line these chevrons, concentrated where the eye lands rather than scattered across the surface, so the sparkle reads as deliberate accent against the sculptural gold rather than as the piece's main event. The ribbed, high-relief gold treatment was a hallmark of 1960s goldsmithing, when jewelers favored deep surface texture and geometric abstraction over the smoother lines of earlier decades.
