Diamond 18K Yellow Gold Collar Necklace, Circa 1970s
SKU: NO.SK.9
Ribbed triangular links run the full length of the collar, each one finely striated so the gold catches light in narrow parallel lines. At intervals, solid triangles give way to pavé-set diamond triangles, the two textures alternating in a zigzag rhythm with matte-ribbed gold, then dense diamond sparkle, repeating around the neck. The rigid, hinged construction and geometric triangle motif are characteristic of 1970s design, when abstraction and repeated form took precedence over figurative or floral motifs. The piece shows no visible wear, tarnish, or loose stones. Measuring 16 inches long, weighing 114 grams total, set with 140 round brilliant diamonds totaling 5.00 carats, F-G color, VS1 clarity.
