Black Onyx and Diamond 18K Yellow Gold Ring, Crown Motif, Circa 1970s
SKU: RO.MJ.7
A round cabochon of black onyx forms the dramatic focal point of this ring, its polished dome catching light as a single unbroken plane of deep black rather than faceted sparkle. At one edge, a crown-shaped cluster of fifteen round brilliant diamonds, H color and totaling 0.75 carats, fans upward from the onyx in a stepped, tiered arrangement — a small but concentrated point of brilliance against the stone's matte darkness. The diamonds are pavé-set with a single bezel-set stone at the peak, giving the cluster a raised, dimensional profile rather than a flat surface. Set in 18K yellow gold with a substantial polished bezel holding the onyx securely, this ring pairs bold, oversized scale with a restrained diamond accent; a hallmark of 1970s gold jewelry, when large cabochon stones were prized for their presence on the hand. Stamped "750" inside the shank. Excellent condition, no visible wear.
