Black Onyx and Diamond 18K Yellow Gold Dome Ring, Circa 1970s
SKU: RO.RJ.1
A high-domed black onyx crown rises from the finger, its surface cut into deep parallel flutes that catch light along dozens of curved ridges rather than reflecting as one flat plane — a hallmark of skilled lapidary carving rather than a simple polished cabochon. A cluster of nine round brilliant diamonds sits at the top of the dome, their bright sparkle breaking the onyx's solid black with a concentrated burst of white light exactly where the eye lands first. High-polish 18K gold frames the base of the dome in a puffed, rounded border, its smooth surface a deliberate contrast to the onyx's textured flutes above it. The scale and boldness of the piece are unmistakably 1970s; a design built to command attention rather than sit quietly on the hand. Excellent condition; no visible chips, scratches, or damage to the onyx.
