Suspending Citrine 18K Yellow Gold Necklace, Circa 1960s

SKU: NO.SK.6

Ten large cabochon citrines hang from a bi-color curb-link chain, each stone bezel-set into its own gold form with teardrop settings for the oval stones, a wider bezel for the single heart-shaped citrine at center. The cabochons pool warm amber light across their smooth, domed surfaces rather than scattering it, giving the necklace a heavy, luminous presence against the articulated weight of the curb chain beneath. The scale here; ten substantial stones on a link this substantial; is characteristic of 1960s Italian goldsmithing, when a necklace was built to command attention through mass and material rather than restraint. Stamped Italy, 750. The piece shows no visible wear, tarnish, or loose stones. Measuring 15 inches long, weighing 137 grams total, set with ten oval and heart cabochon citrines totaling 120 carats.
