A superb 1960s bracelet by Hammerman Brothers, the celebrated New York goldsmiths whose work has been sought by collectors of fine American jewelry for three quarters of a century. Ten sculptural shell links, each finely ribbed and finished to a high polish, articulate smoothly into a bold, undulating band.
The quality shows most clearly on the reverse, where each link is pierced with delicate openwork in a leaf pattern which shows hidden detail of a kind only the best houses bother with. At 96.2 grams the bracelet has real substance on the wrist while remaining supple and comfortable to wear (each link measures 15mm wide × 12mm high). Secured by a concealed box clasp with figure-eight safety.
