A pair of 1960s earclips in 18K yellow gold, built as a domed oval with graduated ribs converging toward the top, framed by a smooth, plain border that sets the textured center apart from the edge. The base curves into a soft scalloped line, echoing the ribbing above it in a single unbroken sweep.
The paired construction; a raised, textured center set against a plain polished frame; was a common device in 1960s gold work, using contrast rather than added ornament to give a piece depth. Stamped 750.
Measuring 36mm in diameter, the earrings carry genuine weight at 48.6 grams for the pair. Fitted with posts and clip backs.
