Diamond Doorknocker 18K Yellow Gold Earclips, Circa 1970s
SKU: EO.HA.28
Forty-eight round brilliant diamonds trace the circular doorknocker motif, set close enough together that the ring of stones reads as a continuous band of light rather than individual points. The doorknocker shape itself; a wide hoop suspended from a smaller upper loop; was a signature silhouette of 1970s gold jewelry, borrowed directly from architectural door hardware and scaled down into something wearable. High-polish gold makes up the bulk of each earring's visual weight, with the diamonds functioning as a bright edge rather than the main event. The lower ring hangs with a slight give from its connection point, giving the earrings movement against the ear rather than the fixed rigidity of a single cast piece. Substantial in scale at 34mm long, they're built to be seen and felt rather than worn quietly. Excellent condition; no visible wear, dents, or repairs.
