1970s Black Onyx and Diamond Dome Gold Ring, Tiered Design
SKU: RO.HA.36
A tiered, stepped shoulder rises on each side of the band before leveling into a wide bezel, the raised construction giving the ring real height and presence on the hand rather than sitting flat. Round brilliant diamonds trace the full perimeter of that bezel in a tight single row, their sparkle set directly against the dark, glassy surface of the oval onyx cabochon at center. The onyx itself is cut with a high dome and a deep, even black that reflects light in a single unbroken plane, a sharp contrast to the faceted diamond border framing it. Ribbed vertical lines run down the shoulders in a fan pattern, a texture-driven detail typical of 1970s gold jewelry that favored surface interest over faceted stones. Diamonds total 0.70 ct across 24 stones, graded H-I color and SI1 clarity. Excellent vintage condition: no visible wear, loose stones, or chips to the onyx.
Yellow gold, tiered dome setting.
